I mentioned it in my most recent edition of weekly rail news, but it was at the end of a two-hour program: Here's a video of what Ta-Nehisi Coates of The Atlantic said about how he felt after taking a train trip rather than flying. (You may have to click through to see it if you're using an RSS reader.)
As a white male, I always hesitate to compare transportation marginalization to the civil rights movement, although I think there are parallels, and considering the demographic of people who walk, bike and take transit for transportation, I think there are synergies as well. So thanks for posting this, it was good to see and I have to admit I wasn't going to click through from rail news (sorry).
